Synopsis

This Synopsis is only available in Spanish:
Walt Kowalski (Clint Eastwood), un trabajador del automóvil jubilado, ocupa su tiempo con reparaciones domésticas, cerveza y visitas mensuales al peluquero. Aunque el último deseo de su difunta esposa fue que se confesara, para Walt, un resentido veterano de la Guerra de Corea que mantiene su rifle M-1 limpio y listo, no hay nada que confesar.

Aquellos a los que solía considerar sus vecinos se han trasladado o han fallecido y han sido sustituidos por inmigrantes hmong, del sudeste asiático, que él desprecia.

Ofendido por prácticamente todo lo que ve: los aleros caídos, el césped descuidado y los rostros extraños que le rodean; las pandillas sin propósito de adolescentes hmong, latinos y afroamericanos que creen que el barrio les pertenece; los extraños inmaduros en que se han convertido sus hijos; Walt sólo espera a que llegue su última hora.

Hasta la noche en que alguien intenta robar su Gran Torino del 72. Tan reluciente como estaba el día en que el propio Walt ayudó a sacarlo de la cadena de montaje hace décadas, el Gran Torino hace que su tímido vecino adolescente, Thao (Bee Vang), entre en su vida cuando los pandilleros hmong presionan al chico para que intente robarlo. Pero Walt lo impide, convirtiéndose en el reacio héroe del barrio, especialmente para la madre y la hermana mayor de Thao, Sue (Ahney Her), quien insiste en que Thao trabaje para Walt para enmendar su conducta.
