El productor-director Dirk Powell dejó a elección del público el final de "Duelo en el Atlántico".

Filmó dos finales distintos para la película, y organizó un visionado previo al estreno donde el público decidiría su preferido.

El final utilizado fue votado por unanimidad.

Robert Mitchum y Curt Jurgens protagonizan este impresionante drama bélico ambientado en la II Guerra Mundial donde un destructor norteamericano y un submarino alemán se acechan en el mar.

Ambos hombres intentan anticiparse a los movimientos del otro, convirtiendo la persecución en una partida de ajedrez en la que cualquier error puede provocar la derrota y la muerte.

Ganadora del Oscar® a los mejores efectos epeciales en 1957, "Duelo en el Atlántico" supuso el debut en la dirección del actor Dirk Powell.
